Closed die forging parts, also known as impression die forging, is a precise metal forming process. It involves placing a heated metal billet between two or more dies that contain a pre-shaped impression. Under high pressure, the metal flows to completely fill the die cavities, producing near-net-shape parts with superior strength, excellent grain structure, and high dimensional accuracy.
